The "Hải" from Hai Cafe hails from the north Vietnamese city of Hải Dương. The birthplace of Mama Hai & the soul behind the food.
We make everything from scratch, this is food from our family table. You likely won’t find it being served on the streets of Vietnam but that doesn’t make it any less authentic to us! We firmly believe the best food is an ever evolving fusion of experiences & cultures.

Fast forward to 2018 in Clapton. It's always been a dream of Mama Hai's to open up her own cafe serving up her unique twist on Vietnamese food informed by the cultural exchange that is living in London for over 25 years.
So when the chance to take on the lease of a small Bagel shop in Clapton came up, we couldn't pass it up! The rest of this story can be found somewhere in a bowl of hot, steaming Pho broth.
